Using a chronograph, scale and penetration tester, the Byrna Kinetic Projectile goes head to head with the Smasher Projectile from Less Lethal Ballistics. A Byrna LE launcher was used. While the lighter Byrna Kinetic Projectile logged greater joules, it was bested by the heavier Smasher when it comes to penetration into a target. The Smasher has been designed to provide maximum penetration for a .68 caliber round riot ball. This video shows that there is no problem using the Smasher in a Byrna LE launcher and, in fact, it improves the overall performance of the Byrna self defense systems.
